HSAD said on the 26th it is unveiling a new overseas travel campaign to promote the payment convenience and partnership benefits of the overseas payment brand UnionPay.
The campaign is a follow-up to the "China travel" edition released on Jan. 1, expanding the scope of travel benefits from China to major destinations worldwide. Focusing on partnership benefits with travel platforms such as Agoda and Trip.com, it aims to convey the practicality of UnionPay from trip planning to local sightseeing.
The commercial follows the entire travel process, including hotel reservations, shopping, and sightseeing and activities, to introduce UnionPay benefits available worldwide. It is structured so that consumers naturally recognize the benefits as they prepare for and enjoy their trips. It increased impact by consolidation of the ad message with benefit information.
The campaign also includes digital content using artificial intelligence (AI). The digital-only "UnionPay that brings discounts" series, released alongside the TV commercial, was produced with a concept of singing to a jingle using major world landmarks and symbols.
Using UnionPay, travelers can receive discounts of up to 20% when booking hotels and activities through Agoda, Trip.com, and Klook at the trip-preparation stage. Discounts are also available overseas on-site. Holders of partner cards such as KB Kookmin Card, NH Nonghyup Card, and Samsung Card can receive instant discounts of up to 10% at offline merchants in Asia. Users of the "UnionPay Hana Travelog Check Card" can get 220 yen refunded when withdrawing cash at ATMs throughout Japan.
An HSAD official said, "This campaign is a project that expands the brand asset proven in the China travel edition to the global travel market," adding, "We focused on boosting the impact and engagement of the brand message by combining benefits tailored to travelers' real usage context with AI-based creative."
