Samchully Co. said on the 25th that it is strengthening its future growth base by expanding its business groups from energy and environment to lifestyle culture and finance.
Marking its 70th anniversary, Samchully Co. has grown on the back of energy businesses such as city gas, heat, and electricity. It is maintaining competitiveness in existing businesses while also seeking new ones. The strategy is to broaden its business scope around energy and environment, lifestyle culture, and finance to build a long-term growth foundation.
Samchully supplies city gas of about 4.03 billion ㎥ annually to around 3.37 million customers, including 13 cities in Gyeonggi Province and five districts in Incheon, in the energy and environment institutional sector. It operates a pipeline network totaling 8,314 km and maintains the No. 1 market share in Korea's city gas market. By securing a balanced sales mix between industrial and residential use, it has reduced the impact of seasonal demand fluctuations. It also operates a safety management system using information technology (IT).
It is also expanding eco-friendly businesses. By using biogas as a raw material for city gas, it is pursuing fuel cell power generation, carbon credit development, and eco-friendly vehicle charging businesses. In the district energy institutional sector, the Gwangmyeong combined heat and power plant, Huses, and Ansan Urban Development supply heat and electricity to local communities. The power generation affiliate S-Power operates an LNG combined cycle power plant. Samchully ES handles fuel cells, converged HVAC, and resource circulation businesses, while Samchully ENG is in charge of city gas pipeline and heat transmission pipeline construction.
In the lifestyle culture institutional sector, it operates dining brands such as "Houeseom," "Bareun Gogi Butcher Shop," and "Seorijae," which handle restaurant businesses. In the United States and Japan, it is developing restaurant businesses under names including "KALBI SOCIAL CLUB." It is also running hotel businesses. Recently, it acquired Sung Gyung Food to expand its food business group.
It is also expanding mobility businesses. Samchully Motors, an authorized BMW dealer, operates new and certified pre-owned car sales and service centers in the capital region and the Chungcheong area. Samchully EV entered the domestic electric vehicle market as an authorized BYD dealer.
In the finance institutional sector, Samchully Asset Management is conducting asset management focused on alternative investments such as energy, renewable energy, and real estate. Recently, it has also expanded investments related to artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure. Samchully Investment is identifying investment targets centered on venture companies and new industries.
