Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) (President Choi Yeon-hye) said on the 23rd that it successfully held the "2026 first-half new employee appointment ceremony" at its Daegu headquarters. A total of 129 new employees were appointed this time, hired across a range of roles including general positions, experienced hires, and research positions.
In a welcome address, the KOGAS executive team said, "You new employees are the valuable talent who will lead KOGAS' tomorrow," and added, "As this is a grave time when uncertainty in the energy market is rising due to the energy transition, artificial intelligence (AI) innovation, and shifts in global affairs, we ask you to demonstrate your full capabilities in your respective roles with passionate drive and a spirit of challenge."
Based in Daegu, KOGAS has sharply expanded its hiring compared with a year earlier, helping to overcome the youth employment freeze. KOGAS is pursuing open recruitment by awarding extra points to social equity candidates such as people with disabilities, low-income individuals, and women with career breaks.
A KOGAS official said, "In the second half of this year, we will spare no effort to actively support resolving youth unemployment and the government's job policies," and added, "We will continue to fulfill our responsibility as a trusted public corporation through fair hiring that encompasses diverse groups."
