POSCO Group will train young talent to lead AI transformation (AX) on manufacturing sites.
POSCO Group said on the 19th that it opened an AI practical competency academy specialized in manufacturing and smart factory industries in connection with Poyou Dream, a youth job competency enhancement education program. The academy is part of the K-New Deal Academy led by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources and the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL).
POSCO Group plans to select 300 young people this year for technical training and to share smart manufacturing know-how with local youth to boost their job competitiveness.
The curriculum consists of five practical fields: ▲ development of industrial software based on on-device AI ▲ manufacturing AI modeling designed with Deep Learning ▲ development of a smart factory AI assistant based on large language models (LLM) ▲ AI data analysis for predicting equipment failures ▲ vision AI safety control that detects risks.
Eligible applicants are job-seeking youth aged 34 or younger, and applications can be submitted on the POSCO Small and Medium Enterprise Consortium website. Job training will run for about four months in Pohang, North Gyeongsang, starting next month.
