FL Auto Korea (FLAK)'s recently released full-size sport utility vehicle (SUV), the "All-new Ford Expedition," is drawing attention as a family car aimed at both drivers and passengers. Reviews say it combines improved power performance and driving convenience for the driver with space versatility that raises passenger satisfaction.
On the 19th, the industry said the all-new Ford Expedition comes with several driver-focused features. First, a 24-inch panoramic digital display is installed in the cabin. It is the largest in its class, allowing the driver to keep eyes safely on the road while grasping needed information at a glance.
The second feature is a powerful powertrain. A high-performance 3.5L EcoBoost high-output V6 engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission to deliver a maximum output of 446 horsepower and peak torque of 70.5 kg·m. It also has a solid body. In everyday driving, it adjusts damping force, and on slippery surfaces, it optimizes left-right torque distribution for a comfortable ride and stable handling.
There is also a driver-assistance system that helps prevent accidents in advance. "Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0" includes, as standard, adaptive cruise control, a blind spot information system, and Active Park Assist based on a 360-degree camera. In addition, the strong standard towing capacity of 4,218 kg further boosts outdoor capability.
A look around the cabin shows passenger-centered design. The all-new Ford Expedition measures 5,349 mm in length, 2,070 mm in width, and 1,955 mm in height, with a wheelbase (center of front axle to center of rear axle) of 3,110 mm. It secures head and knee room that allows adult men to sit even in the third row. Trunk capacity is also 646 L.
The "Flex Power Console" between the first-row driver and front passenger seats can be moved up to 20 cm with simple button operations. If you push the console rearward, the first row gains ample extra storage space, and second-row passengers can access the climate controls and cupholders more closely.
The "Ford Split Gate" trunk door also stands out. The trunk door is divided vertically, with the upper three-quarters opening upward and the lower quarter folding down like a pickup truck. The lower section can withstand loads up to 227 kg, so it can serve as a bench or table during outdoor activities.
The model also includes "360-degree zone lighting," which divides the area around the vehicle into four zones to illuminate for outdoor activities where there is no light, and a premium Bang & Olufsen sound system with 22 speakers.
The all-new Ford Expedition is priced at 123.5 million won, including value-added tax and a 3.5% special consumption tax.
