BMW Korea said it will officially launch the next-generation electric sport utility vehicle (SUV), the new BMW iX3, on the 18th. The starting price for the base trim of the new BMW iX3 is 79.9 million won. Customer deliveries begin on July 6.
The new BMW iX3 is the first mass-production model built on "Noirer Klasse," which encapsulates BMW's future vision. Its exterior and interior have been fully redesigned, and BMW Korea noted that the model reflects the brand's direction in overall driving performance and charging efficiency.
A major feature of the new BMW iX3 is the change to the brand's signature kidney grille. The front design incorporates double headlights that modernly inherit BMW's design from the 1960s. The previous chrome trim has been replaced with illumination. The drag coefficient is 0.24, the highest level among premium models in its class.
Inside, BMW's first "BMW Panoramic iDrive (Drive)" is installed. The "BMW Panoramic Vision," which displays driving information across the entire lower area of the windshield, and the "BMW 3D Head-up Display" allow the driver to check key information without significantly shifting their gaze.
The central display is angled 17.5 degrees toward the driver's seat, and the steering wheel features shy tech technology that activates functions depending on the situation.
The vehicle control system has also changed. Four "super brains" with data processing power up to 20 times stronger than before are applied. "Heart of Joy," which oversees driving dynamics, integrates control of acceleration, steering, braking, and regenerative braking to deliver BMW's signature driving feel even in an electric vehicle.
With the latest sixth-generation BMW eDrive system and a cylindrical cell–based high-voltage battery, energy density has been increased by 20% over the previous model, while charging speed and driving range have each improved by 30%. Under Korea's certification standard, the maximum range per charge is 611 km. Under the WLTP standard, it achieves 805 km.
Based on an 800V high-voltage architecture, it also supports ultra-fast charging at up to the 350–400 kW level. Using an ultra-fast charger, a 10-minute charge enables about 250 km of driving under Korea's certification standard, and charging the battery from 10% to 80% takes about 21 minutes.
In Korea, it will first be released with a single 50 xDrive powertrain. Maximum output is 469 horsepower and peak torque is 65.8 kg·m, accelerating from a standstill to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.
Trims are SE, M Sport, and M Sport Pro. Prices are 79.9 million won for SE, 86.9–87.1 million won for M Sport, and 91.9 million won for M Sport Pro.
