Hansol Technics, an electrical and electronic materials affiliate of Hansol Group, has acquired Wiltechnology, a company specializing in semiconductor test components.
Hansol Technics said on the 17th that it acquired 6,110,544 shares of Wiltechnology for 177.2 billion won, securing 83.37% equity and completing procedures to incorporate it as a subsidiary.
Wiltechnology designs and manufactures probe cards (Probe Card), core components used in non-memory system semiconductor test processes. In particular, it has competitiveness in probe cards for smartphone application processors (AP) and image sensors (CIS), and it has secured major clients at home and abroad.
A probe card is a core component that inspects the electrical characteristics of semiconductor chips and detects defects. As semiconductor fine processes become more advanced, the technological importance grows, and because it is a consumable component used repeatedly in production, stable demand is expected.
With this acquisition of Wiltechnology, Hansol Technics has secured business competitiveness that spans semiconductor equipment, materials, and testing, together with Hansol IONES and SI Materials. It also expects to create synergies through technological collaboration among affiliates and by linking customer networks.
