HD Construction Equipment said on the 12th that it recently launched the 40-ton Develon pile driver, a specialized machine, and delivered the first and second units to customers.
A pile driver is equipment dedicated to piling. It drives piles into the hard ground at construction sites to stably transfer and support a building's load.
HD Construction Equipment said the Develon pile driver offers performance and durability suited for repetitive work.
The boom and arm, which serve as the excavator's arm, are designed 70% longer than the previous model to handle long steel materials stably. It also comes with the "Smart Around View Monitor (SAVM)," which uses dedicated software and an artificial intelligence (AI) camera and radar to detect the area around the machine in real time.
HD Construction Equipment has recently been launching a range of specialized machines. Last year, it released a "multifunction piling machine" that integrates drilling, pile driving, and pile extraction into one. Drilling refers to making holes in the ground with a drill or pile. Pile driving and extraction refer to driving piles into the ground and pulling them out, respectively.
It also unveiled a "high-reach demolition machine" capable of safely demolishing high-rise buildings up to 15 stories tall, and a "material handler" for grabbing and moving scrap metal and waste.
HD Construction Equipment projected that by 2033 the global pile driver market will grow at an average annual rate of 4.8% to reach $21.2 billion (about 32 trillion won). It also forecast that the demolition and material-handling equipment market will grow 5.8% annually to $1.99 billion (about 3 trillion won).
An HD Construction Equipment official said, "As work environments at construction sites diversify, demand for specialized machines optimized for specific tasks is steadily increasing," and added, "We will continue to develop a variety of specialized machines tailored to customer needs to pioneer new markets."
