SK Group executives and employees will hold intensive discussions for three days and two nights on plans for an artificial intelligence transformation (AX). The idea is to explore groupwide AX execution plans along with survival strategies for the AI era.
On the 10th, SK Group said it will host the 2026 New Icheon Forum from the 11th to the 13th at the SKMS Institute in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, under the theme "The disruptive innovation AI will bring, a grand shift to AX-centered management."
About 50 executives are expected to attend, including SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, Senior Vice Chairman Chey Jae-won, SUPEX Council Chairman Chey Chang-won, and chief executive officers (CEOs) of major member companies.
The New Icheon Forum debuts this year by integrating the Management Strategy Meeting, where SK executives have intensively discussed group strategy, with the Icheon Forum, where discussions are centered on SK employees.
Every June, SK Group has brought together key executives to hold a management strategy meeting, review the business environment, and discuss groupwide survival and growth plans. Then in August, it has hosted the Icheon Forum, where SK employees and experts from Korea and abroad have engaged in intensive discussions on global industry trends, innovative technologies, and future business directions.
SK said the integration stems from a sense of crisis that "if we fail to keep up with the trajectory of AI development, we cannot secure future survival." The judgment is that, in a speed race where AI technology's change cycle is becoming extremely short, the existing discussion structure makes it difficult to respond flexibly to such changes.
Through this, SK plans to strengthen communication between executives and employees and further raise the group's execution capability by reflecting discussion outcomes more promptly across management. On the first day, executives will share AX goals and road maps of major member companies and discuss ways to secure AI innovation execution through a CEO panel discussion. They will also communicate broadly about the necessity and direction of AX tailored to each company's situation.
On the 12th, the following day, employee-led discussions will take place. In connection with the executives' discussions, employees will share the AI-era changes they feel in the field, while putting their heads together on difficulties and improvement measures in the AX process and ways to advance organizational operating systems.
On the last day, the 13th, SK executives will share each company's discussed AX promotion plans and firm up the will to accelerate AX at the group level.
An SK official said, "This year's New Icheon Forum will be a venue for broad discussions on AX plans to proactively lead the AI era," adding, "We will step up the grand shift to AX-centered management based on consensus with employees."
