HMM's very large crude carrier (VLCC) Universal Winner will arrive at Ulsan Port on the 10th carrying 2 million barrels of crude oil.
According to the shipping industry on the 9th, the Universal Winner is expected to arrive at Ulsan Port at about 8:30 a.m. on the 10th and complete berthing between 10 and 11 a.m.
The Universal Winner was the only one among 26 Korean ships that had been stuck near the Strait of Hormuz after the outbreak of the United States–Iran war on Feb. 28 to get out. This was carried out on the 20th of last month following consultations between the Korean government and Iran.
There are nine Korean crew members and 12 foreign crew members aboard the Universal Winner. All are said to have no particular health issues.
Earlier, as SK Group's crude oil and petroleum product trading affiliate SK Trading International signed a cargo transport contract with HMM, the Universal Winner headed to the Middle East to carry Kuwaiti crude. The Universal Winner entered the Strait of Hormuz on Feb. 28 and on Mar. 4 loaded 2 million barrels of crude from Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC).
