On the third day of his visit to Korea, on the 7th, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang had lunch with Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun.
According to the business community, Chung and Huang met at 11:50 a.m. at Uraeok, a Pyongyang cold noodle restaurant in Euljiro, Seoul, and ate for about an hour.
The meeting between the two took place ahead of a gathering scheduled at the Hyundai Motor headquarters on the 8th. Hyundai Motor Group is working with Nvidia in future mobility fields such as Autonomous Driving and software-defined vehicles (SDV).
Earlier, in March, the two companies said they would begin jointly developing next-generation Autonomous Driving solutions by combining Hyundai Motor and Kia's in-house SDV capabilities with Nvidia's expertise in Autonomous Driving. In this regard, Hyundai Motor Group plans to adopt NVIDIA DRIVE HYPERION and newly build an integrated architecture (design structure) that can scale from Autonomous Driving level 2 to level 4.
Hyundai Motor Group also plans to actively use Nvidia's extensive data and artificial intelligence (AI) technology to integrate data obtained across the group into a single training pipeline.
Meanwhile, during Huang's visit in Oct. last year, he drew attention for the so-called "Kkanbu meeting," when he met with Chung and Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong at Kkanbu Chicken. However, Chung did not attend the "samso (samgyeopsal and soju) meeting" that Huang had on the 5th at a samgyeopsal restaurant near Hongdae in Seoul with SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo and Naver Chairman Lee Hae-jin.
