Audi on the 5th unveiled the brand's first high-performance hybrid supercar, "Audi Nuvolari." Limited to 499 units worldwide, the model will begin deliveries in the first half of 2027. The model name Nuvolari is taken from the name of Tazio Nuvolari, one of the greatest racers in motorsports history.
Packed with Formula 1 innovation, the Nuvolari is the most powerful and fastest production car in the brand's history. Its high-performance hybrid powertrain, with a maximum system output of 736 kW (1,001 hp), combines a 588 kW 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine with three axial flux electric motors. It sprints from a standstill to 100 kph in 2.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 350 kph.
It is equipped with the next-generation all-wheel-drive system "quattro Predictive Ride." It processes precise sensor data in real time—such as yaw, acceleration, body rotational speed, and road-surface grip—to preemptively respond before entering a corner. By combining a carbon exterior with a low center of gravity and high structural rigidity, it establishes the foundation for high-performance dynamics. Most exterior components are made of carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) developed on the basis of Formula 1 technology.
The active aerodynamics system actively adjusts downforce and drag according to driving conditions. The centrally mounted variable rear wing operates in three modes (closed, low downforce, high downforce). In the high downforce setting, it generates more than 400 kg of downforce. The DRS (drag reduction system), familiar from F1, can also be manually activated via a steering wheel button.
The Nuvolari is the first production car to fully realize Audi's new design philosophy. Taut surfaces, precise lines, and a strong presence define the exterior, and every design element serves a clear functional purpose. Audi's new signature color, "titanium," is applied as standard. The interior positions key elements of the human-machine interface (HMI) within the driver's line of sight to keep the focus fully on driving.
Marco Schubert, head of sales and marketing at Audi, said, "The Nuvolari symbolizes rarity, performance, and the ultimate desire," adding, "With this model, we are making our move into the high-performance segment clear and will cement Audi's position as the premium car brand customers want most."
