Zeekr, a premium electric vehicle brand under Geely Automobile Holdings of China, began preorders for its mid-size sport-utility vehicle (SUV) 7X on the 5th.
The 7X, which Zeekr unveiled simultaneously at nine hub stores nationwide including Seoul, the Gyeonggi region, the Chungcheong region and the Gyeongsang region, is a facelifted model different from the existing version. This is said to be the first time a facelifted model has been unveiled or launched outside China. It is seen as an attempt to quell criticism that electric vehicles from Chinese companies released in Korea are outdated models.
Designed on the SEA platform, the 7X measures 4,800 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width and 1,650 mm in height. Its wheelbase is 2,900 mm, longer than others in its class. Trunk capacity is 539 L. Zeekr said, "Designed in Sweden, the 7X gives a sophisticated and futuristic impression, and it is characterized by being engineered not to compromise interior space."
The 7X comes in three trims—Pro, Max and Ultra—and carries two types of batteries. The Pro trim is equipped with a 75 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP)–based Golden Battery, while the Max and Ultra trims get CATL's 100 kWh high-performance nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) battery.
The motor installed in the Pro and Max trims delivers a maximum output of 421 horsepower and peak torque of 45 kg·m. Under the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment's combined certification at ambient temperature, the Pro travels 375 km and the Max 483 km on a single charge.
The Ultra trim is fitted with two electric motors on the front and rear axles. The system delivers high output of 645 horsepower and peak torque of 72.4 kg·m. Based on the distinctive traction and control performance of all-wheel drive (AWD), it accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. Driving range on a single charge is 440 km.
With an 800V high-voltage system, the 7X supports 360 kW ultra-fast charging under global specifications. Charging the battery from 10% to 80% takes about 13 minutes for the Pro trim and about 16 minutes for the Max and Ultra trims.
The 7X Pro is 52.99 million won, the Max is 59.99 million won and the Ultra is 69.99 million won.
