Taihan Cable & Solution said on the 1st that it won a project to build an extra-high-voltage power grid for a solar power generation project in Haenam, South Jeolla Province. The contract is worth about 50 billion won.
The project is to transmit power generated at the Haenam solar power plant to the Haenam substation. In this project, Taihan Cable & Solution will build a 154-kilovolt (kV) extra-high-voltage power grid on a full turn-key basis. Full turn-key is a method in which the entire process, including power grid design, production, laying, connection, and testing, is carried out in an integrated manner.
Taihan Cable & Solution has been posting consecutive results in domestic renewable energy linkage projects. On Apr. in South Jeolla Province, it won a 154 kV extra-high-voltage subsea cable project to link power produced at the Bigeum solar power plant in Sinan and the Dogo floating solar power plant to the Anjwado substation. Having been recognized for its competitiveness in major domestic renewable energy projects, it expects to secure a range of bidding opportunities going forward.
