SK Rent-a-Car said on the 27th that it will launch a "one-way service" and a "delivery-to-you service" at short-term rental branches across the mainland.
The one-way service lets customers return a vehicle to a different branch from where it was rented. Users can drive freely along their travel route. For example, they can rent a car in Seoul, drive to a provincial city, return it at a local branch, and take another mode of transportation back.
The service will be available at about 50 SK Rent-a-Car branches nationwide except Jeju Island, and can be used by adding a one-way fee to the base lending rate. The one-way fee from Seoul to Gyeonggi is set at about 50,000 won.
With the delivery-to-you service, SK Rent-a-Car delivers the vehicle directly to a designated location—such as a customer's home, office, or hotel—so there is no need to visit a branch. Demand is expected to be particularly strong when customers have a lot of luggage, are accompanying older adults, or need to cut travel time.
To use the service, add a 30,000 won service fee to the base lending rate. Vehicles can be received near about 90 SK Rent-a-Car branches nationwide, excluding Jeju Island.
An SK Rent-a-Car official said, "We are expanding services so customers can use them more flexibly to match their travel routes, moving away from the cumbersome need to visit branches," adding, "We will continue to develop a variety of innovative services."
