Venture capital (VC) Crew Capital said on the 27th that 32 corporations in its portfolio have secured follow-on investment from major U.S. accelerators and venture capital firms.
Founded in 2023, Crew Capital invests in early-stage startups with high growth potential, focusing on the Korean and U.S. markets. It currently has about 32 portfolios and makes more than 10 early investments each year. Artificial intelligence (AI), Robotics, and software as a service (SaaS) are key investment areas. Recently, it has been increasing the share of investments in consumer AI and B2B AI.
Among Crew Capital's portfolio corporations, the hourly worker job-search platform "Bandana" raised a $28 million (about 42 billion won) Series A round from U.S.-based General Catalyst and Craft Ventures, among others. The tax-automation AI "Solomon" also secured a $15 million (about 22.6 billion won) pre-Series A investment from Bessemer Venture Partners.
Medical AI Robotics startup Dentronic was selected for South Park Commons (SPC) "Founder Fellowship," receiving a $1 million (about 1.5 billion won) pre-seed investment. In addition, many corporations including Taipa, Pickle, Cha, Aleph Kids, and Light Anchor were chosen for the batch program at Y Combinator, the world's largest early-stage startup accelerator.
Crew Capital co-CEOs Song Min-jae and Min Byung-hoon said, "Our goal is to build a virtuous cycle in which founders with successful experience in overseas markets support the global push of the next generation of founders," adding, "We will strengthen our role as a partner from the earliest days of founding through global market entry and securing follow-on investment."
