CJ Logistics has developed its own temperature and humidity monitoring system for logistics centers. The company plans to use it to prevent heat-related illnesses during extreme heat periods and to advance its cold chain operations capabilities.
CJ Logistics' TES Logistics Technology Research Institute said on the 27th that it independently developed a real-time temperature and humidity monitoring web system for logistics centers, "Loyce Temperature," and has installed and is operating it at 40 logistics centers nationwide.
Loyce Temperature consists of: ▲ a wireless sensor that measures temperature and humidity 24 hours a day ▲ a gateway that aggregates data ▲ a user-dedicated web control system for real-time monitoring.
Compared with existing temperature and humidity monitoring systems, Loyce Temperature has an "automatic perceived temperature calculation" function that can help prevent heat-related illnesses during extreme heat periods. Based on real-time temperature and humidity data inside logistics centers, it automatically calculates the perceived temperature, and when the perceived temperature goes outside the reference range, it alerts the user viewing the screen to the risk level of the work environment. Users can respond in real time accordingly.
A CJ Logistics official said, "Under current law, if the perceived temperature is 31℃ or higher, it is classified as heatwave work, and if it is 33℃ or higher, workers must be given at least 20 minutes of rest every two hours," adding, "Based on the automatically calculated perceived temperature and alarm details of Loyce Temperature, we can prevent heat-related illnesses in the work environment during extreme heat and enable immediate and rapid responses."
Uniform temperature control can also advance cold chain operations. The wireless sensors of Loyce Temperature can measure from -30℃ to 70℃, allowing installation tailored to each product's characteristics in logistics centers for various environments such as low temperature, refrigerated, and ambient.
Precise temperature and humidity control is essential to maintain the quality of pharmaceuticals, food, liquor, apparel, and more. Loyce Temperature stably manages temperatures at various locations that are greatly affected by temperature and humidity, such as entrances, deep inside warehouses, and central areas. If temperature and humidity deviate from preset values, users are alerted immediately. It also analyzes temperature change trends over time to help diagnose and improve vulnerable points.
A CJ Logistics official said, "We plan to additionally install Loyce Temperature at more than 150 locations, including logistics centers and parcel hub and sub-terminals, by next year," adding, "We expect Loyce Temperature to establish itself as a representative technology that helps workplace safety and product quality maintenance."
