The Ministry of SMEs and Startups said on the 25th that it will announce the "2026 public-private joint technology commercialization (R&D) third implementation plan." To promote technology commercialization by small and midsize businesses, it will fund research and development for 105 projects with a total budget of 10 billion won.
Support types are divided into purchase-linked and co-prosperity cooperation. The purchase-linked type enables small and midsize businesses to develop technologies and products needed by buyers so they can lead to actual purchases. It is also possible to develop technologies based on projects proposed by large corporations and mid-sized companies.
The co-prosperity cooperation type supports the development of products for which investing corporations have demand. Investing corporations and the government will jointly provide up to 1.2 billion won in funding for technology development.
Corporations wishing to participate can apply on the integrated pan-ministerial research support system website (www.iris.go.kr) from the 15th to the 29th of next month. An official at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) said, "It is important that small and midsize businesses' research and development results lead to actual sales," adding, "We will support stable sales channels."
