HD Hyundai is moving to establish a mid- to long-term cooperation framework with the Mykolaiv State Government in Ukraine that covers all aspects of reconstruction projects.
HD Construction Equipment said on the 22nd that it signed a "business agreement for cooperation on Ukraine's reconstruction projects" with the Mykolaiv State Government at the HD Hyundai Global R&D Center (GRC) in Pangyo on the 21st.
The agreement expands the 2023 collaboration between HD Construction Equipment and the Mykolaiv State Government, which had focused on donating construction equipment and providing training.
Through the business agreement, the two sides agreed to build a cooperation model that broadens the scope to equipment supply, establishment of a local training center, service and maintenance support, creation of financial support systems, and restoration of energy infrastructure, thereby supporting reconstruction overall.
HD Construction Equipment has continued reconstruction cooperation with the Ukrainian government and local counterparts since the war. Starting with First Deputy Minister Vasyl Shkurakov of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine visiting the Ulsan campus in 2023, the company pursued discussions on reconstruction cooperation and, in the same year, donated five key machines, including excavators and forklifts, to the Mykolaiv State Government.
In addition, it established a branch in Kyiv, Ukraine, in 2024 and strengthened its local cooperation base through training programs inviting government official such as those from the Ministry of Territorial Development last year. It also pursued discussions on building a construction machinery training center and on education and training plans.
HD Hyundai plans to build a group-level integrated reconstruction cooperation model that links capabilities in construction machinery and energy.
HD Hyundai Vice Chairman Cho Young-cheul said, "We will build a cooperation framework that can make a tangible contribution to Ukraine's reconstruction beyond simple equipment supply," adding, "We will also actively support local infrastructure recovery and stabilization by leveraging our capabilities in construction machinery and energy."
