Hyundai Motor Group said on the 21st that it took part in the World Hydrogen Summit 2026, held May 19–21 (local time) at Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Centre in the Netherlands. At what is considered the world's largest hydrogen industry expo, Hyundai Motor Group pushed to expand global cooperation by highlighting its vision for hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles and the hydrogen value chain.
According to Hyundai Motor Group, the World Hydrogen Summit 2026, now in its seventh year, is a venue to discuss key hydrogen-related agenda items—such as mobility, infrastructure, regulation, and investment—and policy directions to invigorate the hydrogen ecosystem. This year's event drew about 10,000 attendees, including government official from more than 100 countries and representatives from more than 500 participating corporations, who shared a wide range of views.
Hyundai Motor Group set up its booth in the Korea Pavilion around HTWO, its hydrogen brand and business platform. It displayed a hydrogen fuel cell system mock-up and the hydrogen passenger car The All-new Nexo. The Nexo is equipped with a 150 kW (kilowatt) motor and accelerates from a standstill to 100 kph in 7.8 seconds, and it can travel up to 720 km on a single charge under Korea's standard.
Hyundai Motor Group also took part in the World Hydrogen Summit's talks institutional sector. It did so to share plans for building a sustainable hydrogen ecosystem and activating solutions with global partners, including those in Europe. The group underscored that hydrogen is increasingly recognized not only as a decarbonization tool but also as an energy driver to mitigate risks in the global energy supply chain. It also emphasized that, beyond technology development, global standards need to be established quickly.
Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor Group, a founding member and co-chair company of the Hydrogen Council, participated in the IHTF (International Hydrogen Trade Forum) meeting, a side event of the World Hydrogen Summit. At the IHTF roundtable, attended by ministers and Vice Minister from more than 20 countries and organized by the council, participants discussed the need for forward-looking hydrogen strategies to bolster joint responsiveness between industry and governments amid the growing importance of energy security.
A Hyundai Motor Group official said, "We will work with stakeholders to build sustainable hydrogen infrastructure in step with the acceleration of the hydrogen ecosystem."
