Home&Shopping on the 21st held a "regional small business e-commerce seminar" at Yeonggwang Terminal Market in the Jeolla region and moved to support expanding digital sales channels for traditional markets.
This seminar is the second event this year of Home&Shopping's "project to revive five major regional traditional markets nationwide." The project, a co-prosperity program that began last year, selects five traditional markets across the country by region each year and provides focused support for online distribution and promotion.
About 50 people attended the seminar, including Lim Gyeong-jun, head of the Gwangju-Jeonnam chapter of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises, Song Gwang-min, acting county head and deputy head of Yeonggwang County, Lee Hyun-seung, head of the SME Support Division at Home&Shopping, officials from the Small Enterprise and Market Service, and local merchants' association representatives.
Yeonggwang Terminal Market is a representative traditional market in the Jeolla region where West Sea seafood and local agricultural products converge, including gulbi, Yeonggwang's signature specialty. Adjacent to the terminal, it offers excellent accessibility and heavy foot traffic, making it a market that local residents and tourists visit steadily.
Home&Shopping prepared this project to support traditional market merchants who have excellent product quality but struggle to secure distribution channels. The company plans to link online sales with home shopping broadcasts to expand sales opportunities for regional products nationwide.
That day, Home&Shopping introduced the procedures for entering home shopping and shared successful sales cases. The Small Enterprise and Market Service, under the theme of "digital transformation of traditional markets," explained online sales strategies and policy support programs.
Starting with this event, Home&Shopping plans to sequentially promote: ▲ online sales support (6–10 companies) ▲ home shopping broadcast sales support (3–6 companies, 60-minute broadcasts) ▲ production of promotional videos for the market and stores.
A Home&Shopping official said, "We will do our best to support home shopping and online sales channels so that merchants at Yeonggwang Terminal Market, who have outstanding specialties, can secure digital competitiveness and meet consumers nationwide."
