The Ministry of SMEs and Startups said on the 19th it is recruiting small and medium-sized enterprises to take part in the "post office international logistics service support program."
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) prepared a program with Korea Post to ease export logistics burdens for small and medium-sized enterprises by subsidizing part of the expense for post office international logistics services. Recruitment of participating corporations will run from the 20th to June 5.
Those eligible are small and medium-sized enterprises that use (including those planning to use) post office international logistics services and recorded at least $10,000 in exports in the previous year, with up to 10 million won provided per corporation. Participating corporations will receive up to a 40% advance rate discount from the post office when using post office international logistics services. An additional 30% subsidy, calculated on the regular price before discounts by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) and the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME), is available.
When participating corporations use post office logistics services, subsidies will be paid monthly based on usage records without a separate application.
Sim Jae-yun, director-general for global growth policy at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS), said, "Even in normal times, logistics is one of the most important matters for online export corporations, but with logistics costs rising due to the recent Middle East war, corporations are facing many difficulties," and added, "We hope this support helps ease logistics burdens for our small and medium-sized enterprises and restore export momentum."
