Paper products company KleanNara posted a loss in the first quarter this year.
KleanNara disclosed on May 15 that it recorded an operating loss of 3.9 billion won in the first quarter of 2026. It was similar to the operating loss of 3.8 billion won in the same period last year. Sales were 125 billion won, down 4.3% from a year earlier.
A slowdown in the white paperboard market and rising cost burdens affected results. However, the company said that cost structure improvements, operational efficiency efforts, and a stronger framework to respond to energy expense since last year played a positive role in defending profitability.
KleanNara plans to focus on securing a foundation for stabilizing its mid- to long-term revenue structure by strengthening a portfolio centered on high value-added products and activities to improve energy efficiency.
