LG is going all out to secure future technology talent, from gifted youths to domestic and international master's and doctoral holders. The alpha generation refers to those born between 2010 and 2024 who are familiar with cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI).
On the 14th, LG said it hosted the science and engineering talent invitation event "LG Tech Conference" at LG Science Park in Magok, Gangseo District, Seoul. Launched in 2012, the LG Tech Conference is an event where outstanding talent are invited to LG Science Park to explain technological innovation and future visions.
This year, in addition to the existing invitees of domestic master's and doctoral R&D talent, the company also invited 100 students from schools for the gifted and science high schools, as well as international students, to prepare for the future from a long-term perspective. For the first time, international students from nine countries, including China, Russia, and Vietnam, were also invited to this year's event as LG moved to secure global talent.
At the event, Vice Chairman Kwon Bong-seok of LG Corp. and CEO Jeong Su-heon of LG Science Park were joined by top management and technology leaders from nine LG affiliates.
In the opening speech, Vice Chairman Kwon told the invited talent, "At LG, we consider our members—the source of customer value creation—our most important asset," and added, "If you fully unleash your dreams and passion on the LG stage, LG will be your most reliable partner in bringing your technology to the world."
