Ferrari Korea on the 13th unveiled the 849 Testarossa Spider, the top open-top model in its lineup, for the first time in Korea at its Banpo showroom in Seoul.
The 849 Testarossa Spider is a new super sports berlinetta spider that replaces the SF90 Spider. It is equipped with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain that pairs a 3,999cc V8 twin-turbo engine producing 830 cv (about 819 horsepower) with three electric motors adding 220 cv (about 217 horsepower) of additional output.
This delivers a total system output of 1,050 cv (about 1,035 horsepower), the highest level among series-production Ferraris. That is an improvement of 50 cv over the previous model. Top speed is 330 kph, and it takes 2.3 seconds to accelerate from a standstill to 100 kph.
Ferrari's signature retractable hardtop allows drivers to enjoy the stability of a coupe and the openness of a spider at the same time. The roof opens and closes in 14 seconds at speeds up to 45 kph.
A "wind catcher" system positioned behind the seats minimizes turbulence entering the cabin when driving open-top, maximizing comfort. The system guides air entering from the upper edge of the side windows to the rear shelf inlets behind the seats and expels it through outlets below the seats, effectively reducing turbulence in the cabin.
Aerodynamics have also been improved. At 250 kph, it generates a total of 415 kg of downforce (pressing force), an increase of 25 kg over the previous model.
Selecting the Assetto Fiorano specification enables about 30 kg of weight reduction through extensive use of carbon fiber and titanium materials. Instead of a twin tail, a twin-wing structure is applied to triple vertical downforce, and two exclusive colors—Bianco Cervino and Rosso Corsa—are also offered.
