Ventilation appliance specialist "Himpel" has enhanced the functions and user convenience of its ventilation appliances by applying ABOV Semiconductor's On-device AI voice recognition technology.
Himpel said on the 13th that it applied ABOV Semiconductor's low-power On-device AI voice recognition technology to the bathroom ventilation appliance "Hugente Air360" and the kitchen ventilation appliance "Hucle Forest," and obtained AI+ certification from the Korea Standards Association.
The core of this technology upgrade is the combination of AI-based voice recognition with Himpel's bathroom ventilation appliance. Users can easily operate not only ventilation, dehumidification (drying), warm air, and dry functions but also airflow control, lighting control, and power functions through voice commands such as "Hi Himpel." The company said user convenience has been greatly improved because the device can be controlled by voice alone even in environments like bathrooms where hands are wet or remote controls are inconvenient to use.
In particular, it can perform voice recognition and AI inference without a high-performance processor or a cloud server connection, so voice data is not transmitted externally, offering an advantage in terms of privacy protection.
Hugente Air360, which adopts this technology, is set to be unveiled at the "2026 Korea Mechanical Equipment Exhibition," to be held from the 13th to the 15th.
The AI voice recognition technology has also been applied to the kitchen ventilation appliance "Hucle Forest." After the wake phrase "Hi Himpel," users can control airflow, auto mode, lighting, power functions, and more by voice. Hucle Forest is a kitchen ventilation appliance that provides automatic ventilation based on indoor air quality and supports IoT integration.
A Himpel official said, "This application of technology is a case of expanding the user experience of ventilation appliances by one step based on ABOV Semiconductor's On-device AI technology," adding, "We plan to continue introducing more intuitive and convenient ventilation appliances by combining AI technology with air quality management technology."
