The HD Hyundai Heavy Industries labor union finalized this year's wage and collective bargaining demands.
On the 12th, the union held an extraordinary delegates' meeting at the Ulsan headquarters and passed a demand that includes a 141,496-won increase in the monthly base salary excluding step increases, a 100% increase in bonuses, sharing 30% of operating profit, and grants of 2 billion won in operating expenses to maintain resort facilities.
The demands also include expanding the scope of ordinary wages and new hiring. If the company introduces AI technology, it must prepare employment security measures through agreement with the union.
Based on the demands finalized this time, the union is expected to enter full-fledged negotiations. It plans to deliver them to the company and begin formal talks.
Earlier, the in-house subcontractors' union also sent the company a negotiation request that includes a wage increase plan, recognition of one work unit for eight hours, and performance-based pay equal to the prime contractor. Under the revised Trade Union and Labor Relations Adjustment Act, the in-house subcontractors' union will also negotiate with the company starting this year.
The HD Hyundai Heavy Industries prime and subcontractor unions also plan to hold a joint briefing on the negotiation proposal for local residents on the 13th.
