The Ministry of SMEs and Startups said on the 7th it will begin on-site outreach to raise interest in "startup for all."
The startup for all project is a government-supported startup talent development platform that lets anyone with just an idea try starting a business. The application deadline is until 4 p.m. on the 15th.
On the day, First Vice Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) Noh Yong-seok visited Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) and held a roundtable with students interested in technology startups. GIST is a science and engineering specialized university where technology startups and commercialization are active, based on achievements in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence and semiconductors.
The Vice Minister said, "Technology startups are a key driver that will lead future new industries," and added, "We will supplement on-site support so that youths' excellent research outcomes and ideas can lead to startups."
Second Vice Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) Lee Byeong-gweon visited Catholic Kwandong University and hosted a "local startup talk concert." Catholic Kwandong University has been working to cultivate region-based startup talent through local startup education programs that link regional resources with culture and tourism content, as well as operating startup clubs.
Attendees of the talk concert shared startup cases and ideas that used regional resources and offered various views to vitalize local startups.
The Vice Minister said, "Local startups go beyond simple business creation and are a key driver that revives the regional economy," and noted, "We will strengthen full-cycle support across startup, growth, and leap so that youths can discover diverse opportunities and grow in their regions."
The Vice Minister visited Jumunjin Fisheries Market, Gangneung's representative market, and also checked flood-vulnerable elements such as electrical facilities and structures. In addition, the Vice Minister met merchants to hear on-the-ground views on difficulties caused by changes in internal and external environments and ways to strengthen commercial district competitiveness. The items purchased on the day will be delivered to vulnerable groups in the jurisdiction.
