Hyundai Motor on the 28th unveiled the design of the facelift (partial change) model of the midsize sedan Grandeur, "The New Grandeur."
The Grandeur first launched in 1986 and, through successive generations, has established itself as Hyundai Motor's flagship sedan. The New Grandeur unveiled on the day is a partial-change model of the seventh-generation Grandeur released in Nov. 2022, featuring new-car-level changes to its design.
The front of The New Grandeur adopts a shark nose (a design element reminiscent of a shark's snout). The radiator grille is adorned with a mesh pattern. The body length is 5,050 mm, 15 mm longer than the previous model. The rear is equipped with turn signal lamps, capturing a futuristic yet premium feel, Hyundai Motor said.
The interior concept is a premium lounge. It pursues a sense of spaciousness and user experience. For the first time at Hyundai Motor, Plæos Connect based on the Android Automotive Operating System (AAOS) has been applied. Only key physical buttons are placed below the 17-inch display for intuitive design. Also for the first time at Hyundai Motor, a smart vision roof with adjustable transmittance has been applied.
Hyundai Motor added an "Artisanal Burgundy" color inspired by lacquer to the interior and exterior to convey a luxurious feel.
To expand customer touchpoints before launch, Hyundai Motor will run an "Early Pass" pre-notification event through the 13th of next month. Applicants will receive product information, launch schedules, and test-drive details on a priority basis, and prizes will also be offered by lottery to customers who take delivery.
A Hyundai Motor official said, "The New Grandeur is a model that applies a large number of new features and refines the details to deliver new-car-level completeness," adding, "It will provide a higher level of mobility experience for customers expecting a premium sedan."
