Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises starts a digital campaign to support small business owners standing at a crossroads between closure and restarting.
KBIZ said that starting on the 27th, it will release the "Um!brella Agency" content sequentially through the Yellow Umbrella YouTube channel. The campaign was designed to offer small business owners struggling amid an economic downturn a chance to try again and to encourage public participation.
"Um!brella Agency" is an interactive program hosted by comedian Eom Ji-yoon and Wonjin of the group Cravity. It will operate by visiting selected stores chosen through submissions, presenting tailored promotional strategies, and supporting one-day part-time work.
Produced in a total of four episodes, the program will start with "Honggane Yangpyeong Haejangguk" and then cover a variety of businesses sequentially, including a fitness shop, a hair salon, and a flower shop.
Yellow Umbrella is a mutual aid program that helps stabilize livelihoods during management crises such as closure or old age for small businesses and small business owners. Since its introduction in 2007, subscribers have surpassed 1.88 million. Subscribers can receive income tax deduction benefits and protections such as prohibition on seizure of mutual aid payouts.
Lee Chang-ho, head of the mutual aid business division at KBIZ, said, "We hope this campaign becomes a catalyst for small business owners to try again."
