The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced the "2026 technology commercialization package support program second implementation plan" on the 27th to promote the technology commercialization of small and venture companies.
This announcement is a follow-up to the first implementation plan released in Feb. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) reflected the supplementary budget and newly included the "startup track performing research and development (R&D)." The startup track performing R&D targets startups that carried out government R&D or companies founded by the researchers involved.
The technology commercialization package is a program that supports excellent technologies secured through government R&D support so they do not fail to enter the market due to a lack of funding. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) said it plans to use this program to drive tangible results such as increased exports and higher sales.
Eligible applicants are small and medium-sized corporations that completed development or acquired a transfer of technology on or after Jan. 1, 2023. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) will provide support in four tracks: ▲ excellent government R&D projects ▲ linkage with technology transaction platforms ▲ linkage with regulatory innovation R&D ▲ startups performing R&D.
Through this second announcement, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) will select about 150 corporations. Selected corporations will receive up to 1.5 billion won in follow-up R&D commercialization funding.
Applications will be accepted from May 11 to 26 and can be submitted online through the comprehensive management system for the small and medium-sized enterprise technology development program.
