No Yong-seok, first Vice Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, visited a university campus to engage in outreach to boost youth entrepreneurship.
On the 24th, the Vice Minister visited Sungkyunkwan University's Suwon Natural Sciences Campus and held a roundtable with student startup club members, young people interested in founding businesses, and senior entrepreneurs.
The visit was arranged to spread the enthusiasm for participation by young people in the "Entrepreneurship for All" project and to reflect college students' vivid ideas and on-the-ground feedback in policy.
Participants in the roundtable shared startup ideas in a free atmosphere and exchanged views on difficulties faced during the startup process—such as funding burdens, lack of information, and network limitations—and on areas needing improvement.
The Vice Minister said, "I hope young people can become more familiar with entrepreneurship through 'Entrepreneurship for All' and gain opportunities to flesh out their ideas," adding, "The government will be a trusted helper so that young people's creative ideas can lead to real startups."
Meanwhile, the "Entrepreneurship for All" project is a program that anyone with a startup idea can apply to through the Entrepreneurship for All platform. The application deadline is May 15 at 4 p.m.
