Agricultural machinery specialist TYM Co. said on the 23rd that it held a tractor donation ceremony on the 8th at its Okcheon plant in North Chungcheong Province for employees who chose to return to farming after retirement.
The support program was prepared as part of a co-prosperity initiative to thank employees who contributed to the company's development and to help them settle into agriculture after retirement. Eligible applicants are former full-time and indefinite-term employees with at least five years of service who apply within one year of their retirement date and pass screening.
Three people selected for support this year received TYM Co.'s small and mid-sized tractor "K48." The model is highly versatile across various farming environments, and the Okcheon plant production team employees built the units themselves and handed them to their colleagues, adding meaning. The donation ceremony was attended by Kim Dong-gyun, head of TYM Co.'s Production Division 2, and production team officials, who encouraged the retiring employees embarking on a new start.
Since 2020, TYM Co. has expanded its "tractor support program for young farmers returning to farming," which it has promoted to nurture future agricultural talent, to include internal employees, putting corporations' social responsibility into practice.
TYM Co. CEO Kim So-won said, "We are pleased to provide practical support so that our colleagues who have been dedicated in the field can start a second life in agriculture," adding, "We will continue to strengthen sustainable management for employee welfare policies and rural revitalization."
