Korean Air Lines said on the 20th it held the "One mind festa," an event open not only to its employees and their families but also to Asiana Airlines employees and their families.
One mind festa is an annual event that Korean Air Lines holds to strengthen a culture of labor-management coexistence and harmony. This year it was held under the banner "One sky, One family."
The event took place on the 18th at the Gyeyang Asiad Archery Field in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon. With Asiana Airlines employees and their families taking part this year, about 5,000 people attended, up by roughly 1,000 from last year.
The program included a team competition field day jointly held by Korean Air Lines and Asiana Airlines and a talent show, along with celebratory performances, a children's experience zone, and a prize drawing.
Also, to mark the 62nd anniversary of the Korean Air Lines labor union's founding this year, Yoo Jeong-bok, the Incheon mayor, and Kim Dong-myung, chairperson of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions, attended. The roots of the Korean Air Lines union trace back to the Aviation Branch of the National United Labor Union, inaugurated in 1965 during the Korean Air Lines Corporation era.
