Genesis, the premium brand of Hyundai Motor, said on the 17th that it was recently selected as the "best car brand" in a reader survey by "AutoBild," a leading German automotive outlet.
A Genesis official said, "It is meaningful in that actual market perception was reflected, as general readers, not a panel of expert judges, directly took part in the selection." In particular, more than 50,000 readers participated this year, marking the highest participation rate on record.
In this evaluation, 52 automobile brands were divided into 14 detailed categories, and the assessment focused on three items: ◇quality ◇design ◇price competitiveness.
As a result, Genesis beat European premium brands such as Porsche to be selected for the top overall honor of "best car brand" and as the top brand in the luxury category, "best luxury car brand." In particular, in the luxury category, it received the highest score in price competitiveness.
Executive Vice President Lee Si-hyeok, head of the Genesis Business Division, said, "Being chosen as the best car brand this time is the result of steadily expanding Genesis' presence in Europe with a strategy of setting standards for the brand rather than focusing on short-term sales," adding, "We will continue to build greater substance based on sophisticated design, advanced technology, and a differentiated retail experience."
Genesis first entered the European market in 2021, using Germany, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland as bases, and has since expanded its business to France, Italy, and the Netherlands. It is also planning to enter Spain within the year.
