HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, the intermediate shipbuilding holding company of HD Hyundai, said on the 17th that it recently signed a construction contract with a Middle Eastern shipping company for four very large gas carriers (VLGCs).
The total order value is 674.7 billion won, and the vessels will be built by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and delivered by the second half of 2029.
Including this order, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering has won a total of 76 ships worth $8.21 billion so far, achieving 35.2% of its annual order target of $23.31 billion.
By ship type, the company has secured orders for 12 liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, 20 container ships, 15 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and ammonia carriers, seven crude oil carriers, 20 petroleum product carriers (PC ships), and two PCTCs.
