Honda Korea said on the 16th it will begin online preorders for the eight-seat large sport-utility vehicle (SUV) "New Pilot Black Edition" starting on the 17th.
The Honda Pilot is one of the brand's flagship models, selling more than 100,000 units for three straight years in the North American market. The New Pilot Black Edition changes its exterior styling to a more rugged look, including the front grille and front and rear bumpers, and wheel design.
Alcantara material has been newly applied throughout the interior, and a 12.3-inch center display strengthens convenience features.
The powertrain carries over the V6 3.5L direct-injection DOHC i-VTEC engine and 10-speed automatic transmission. The Honda Sensing advanced driver-assistance system is equipped, and it earned a "TSP (Top Safety Pick)" in crash tests by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
The selling price is 78.8 million won including value-added tax, and the official launch is planned for next month.
