The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises said on the 14th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Data and Statistics (MODS) at its Yeouido headquarters in Seoul to advance economic statistics and strengthen data-based small business policies, with Executive Vice Chairman O Gi-ung and Minister An Hyeong-jun of the Ministry of Data and Statistics (MODS) in attendance.
The agreement aims to refine economic statistics that serve as the basis for small business policy formulation and to build a cooperative framework to expand the use of artificial intelligence (AI)-based data.
Going forward, the two organizations agreed to cooperate in areas including: ▲ cooperation to improve economic statistics to support economic policy ▲ participation in a consultative body to expand the use of AI and data ▲ promotional cooperation to boost participation in small business statistical surveys ▲ mutual use of held data necessary for compiling, processing, and improving statistics.
KBIZ expects that this agreement will strengthen the statistical foundation for small businesses to respond to the rapidly changing industrial environment and enhance its capacity for data-based policy response.
Executive Vice Chairman O Gi-ung said, "Building a precise statistical system for small businesses is a core foundation for strengthening policy responsiveness," adding, "We will step up cooperation to identify on-the-ground difficulties based on data and propose tailored support policies."
Minister An Hyeong-jun of the Ministry of Data and Statistics (MODS) said, "Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, so building policy-tailored data is important," and noted, "We will foster a data ecosystem where the public and private sectors cooperate to advance small business economic data."
