The Ministry of SMEs and Startups said on the 13th that Minister Han Seong-sook visited Chungnam National University and attended the "Startup for All Campus Tour" event to expand youth participation in startups.
The "Startup for All" project is a nationwide startup talent development platform being promoted to create an environment where anyone can try starting a business. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) began recruiting participants on Mar. 26.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) views college students and young people as key participants and is conducting on-site promotion in a campus tour format focused on major universities nationwide.
On this day, the Minister visited the event held at Democracy Square at Chungnam National University, joined students in programs such as a startup aptitude test, and listened to on-site feedback.
At the ensuing roundtable, the minister met with students interested in startups and heard about perceptions of startups and difficulties in the preparation process. The students cited the burden of startup failure, the challenge of balancing studies with starting a business, and limited access to startup information as key issues.
The Minister said, "The experience of taking on challenges during college can be an important asset regardless of whether one actually starts a business," and added, "I hope startups become a process that anyone can experience, rather than a choice for a few."
Anyone can participate in the "Startup for All" project through the dedicated platform, and applications are due by 4 p.m. on May 15.
