Hanjin said on the 7th that it signed a contract with e-commerce company 11Street to operate logistics services.
Under the deal, Hanjin will exclusively operate 11Street's fulfillment center facilities, workforce, and automation equipment for the next five years.
The centers to be operated are four fulfillment centers in the greater Seoul area, with a total area of 26,000 pyeong.
Hanjin said the partnership is a strategic choice to maximize the business expertise the two companies hold.
Hanjin aims to build its fulfillment capabilities by handling data such as the complex order integration systems of e-commerce platforms, stock keeping units (SKU), and individual delivery conditions.
By having Hanjin take full charge of logistics, 11Street will work to improve the stability of next-day and same-day delivery services, including "shooting delivery," while strengthening its core competitiveness through upgrades to its own services.
Starting with this partnership, Hanjin plans to organically link and operate existing global logistics hubs such as South Seoul and Incheon Airport GDC with new infrastructure.
Through this, it aims to provide sellers with optimized logistics efficiency and support differentiated logistics services, such as helping them find overseas sales channels by using Hanjin's global network.
A Hanjin official said, "Based on this operation, we will strengthen our partnership by providing high-quality services to sellers on 11Street using Hanjin's domestic and overseas networks, helping drive the growth of their businesses."
