Hyundai Motor said on the 5th it will run the "Hyundai Easy Start program" to lower customers' economic and psychological burdens for buying and owning vehicles.
The Easy Start program expands and strengthens the benefits that eased purchase burdens and supported fuel costs—previously applied only to some models—to major popular models.
Hyundai Motor will first offer up to 3 million won in purchase support. The Santa Fe and Sonata offer up to 3 million won, the Ioniq 6 and Kona Electric up to 2 million won, the Ioniq 5 up to 1.5 million won, and the Porter LPDi up to 1 million won in discounts.
It will also expand the balloon installment program—previously offered for the Kona Electric, Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, and Nexo—to the Sonata, Santa Fe, and Porter LPDi.
The balloon installment plan is a financing product in which the vehicle's residual value is guaranteed in advance, deferring the installment amount by that value, and paying only the principal and interest on the remaining amount and the interest on the deferred amount. At maturity, the deferred amount can be repaid by returning the vehicle.
For the Santa Fe and Sonata, the 60‑month installment residual value rate was raised by 3 to 10 percentage points (p), and for the Porter LPDi, a 60‑month installment term was newly added so customers can use the vehicle with monthly payments in the 200,000 to 300,000 won range.
Hyundai Motor also said that, given higher burdens from oil prices amid instability in the Middle East, it will support fuel and charging costs of up to 400,000 won per model to reduce customers' vehicle operating expense.
For the Santa Fe and Sonata, a fuel voucher worth 300,000 won is provided upon delivery with the balloon installment plan, and when customers meet usage conditions with a Hyundai Motor exclusive card and use Save Auto, they receive a 150,000 won discount and 150,000 won cashback.
Porter LPDi customers receive a 200,000 won LPG charging card, and for those in primary industries such as agriculture, livestock, and fisheries, and for commercial use, an additional special vehicle discount of 200,000 won is offered, for benefits worth up to 400,000 won. Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, and Kona Electric customers receive 200,000 won in charging credits, and Nexo customers receive 400,000 won in charging credits.
A Hyundai Motor official said, "Starting with this 'Easy Start,' we will actively roll out various purchase support and service programs to reduce customers' real burdens across the entire process from purchase to ownership, and through this, enable more customers to reasonably experience Hyundai Motor's diverse lineup."
