SK Networks said on the 3rd that it has appointed former Chairman Chey Shin-won as honorary chairman.
SK Networks said its board on the 2nd approved a proposal to appoint the former chairman as honorary chairman.
Honorary Chairman Chey will serve as a management mentor, advising on setting mid- to long-term strategic direction and creating various business synergies.
Honorary Chairman Chey also plans to promote the unique culture and core values based on the SK Management System (SKMS) management philosophy and to carry out social contribution activities.
An SK Networks official said, "Honorary Chairman Chey will support the company's innovation and fulfill the role of a business leader who carries out social responsibility."
Honorary Chairman Chey was taken into custody after the Supreme Court in May last year finalized his conviction on charges including embezzlement and breach of trust and sentenced him to two years and six months in prison, and he was pardoned as a Liberation Day special pardon in Aug. last year.
