The Ministry of SMEs and Startups said on the 30th it will hold the "2026 pan-government small and medium-sized enterprise technology protection briefing session" to raise awareness of SME technology protection and strengthen capability levels.
The briefing session will include the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS), the Ministry of Intellectual Property, the Korea Fair Trade Commission, the Prosecution Service, the Defense Acquisition Program Administration, and the Korean National Police Agency. It was prepared to guide small and medium-sized enterprises so they can grasp at a glance the technology protection support systems scattered across ministries.
On-site, customized security consulting suited to each corporation's situation and promotional booths introducing key policies and support programs by ministry were also set up.
This year, for corporations that find it difficult to attend in person, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) will also live-stream on its official YouTube channel. It plans to support broad participation by many corporations, including communicating through real-time comments.
Starting in Busan, the briefing sessions will be held five times a year by region in Honam (Gwangju, May), Chungcheong (Daejeon, July), Yeongdong (September), and the Seoul metropolitan area (November).
Hwang Young-ho, director general for technology innovation policy at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS), said, "Strengthening SMEs' technology protection capabilities is not a choice but a mandatory task," adding, "The pan-government will work together to expand technology protection support that can be felt in the field and create an environment where SMEs can focus on innovation with peace of mind."
