Chinese premium electric vehicle brand Zeekr has confirmed the mid-size sport utility vehicle (SUV) "7X" as the first model to launch in the Korean market.
On the 27th, Zeekr Korea explained Zeekr's Korea launch schedule, the first model, vehicle specifications and options, and showrooms and service centers through its official YouTube channel "Zeekr Watching."
Zeekr's first model for sale in Korea has been officially confirmed as the mid-size SUV 7X. It added that the launches of follow-up models such as the multipurpose vehicle (MPV) "009," the shooting brake 007 GT, and the large SUVs "8X" and "9X" will be decided by actively reflecting Korean consumer needs and market feedback going forward.
Regarding the launch schedule, it said, "Certification is currently underway, and we have reached the final stage to present a flawless model that exceeds certification standards and meets consumer requirements."
In the domestic market, a facelifted model of the 7X is slated to launch, marking the first case in global markets excluding China. In addition, the 7X will be equipped with Zeekr's self-developed 75 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) Golden Battery and CATL's 100 kWh nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) battery.
The 7X's convenience features were also revealed. The segment's first power doors for all seats and a refrigerator that supports from minus 6 degrees to 50 degrees are offered as options. A Zeekr Korea official said, "We are working to include as an option the Stargate Light, composed of 1,000 light-emitting diodes (LEDs), which consumers prefer most." The Zeekr Sound Pro, with a total of 21 speakers including the driver's and front passenger's headrests, can also be selected as an option.
For Autonomous Driving, the Zeekr 7X sold in Korea is confirmed to be unable to achieve full self-driving due to regulations. To offer consumers reasonable choices, LiDAR will also not be installed. However, Level 2 driving assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and automatic lane change, which operate based on radar and cameras, will be provided as standard.
Considering the importance of consumers' first impressions of the brand and after-sales service, Zeekr plans to sell the 7X through a dealer model. Zeekr showrooms operated by H Mobility ZK, Iron EV, KCC Mobility, and ZK Mobility are being prepared in major provincial cities as well as in the greater Seoul area, including Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon. The company also plans to establish at least one service center in each region, including Jeju Island.
