Public Home Shopping said on the 26th that it appointed former Home&Shopping CEO Lee Il-yong as its new CEO.
Public Home Shopping issued a recruitment notice through its executive recommendation committee in Dec. last year and began the process to hire a new CEO. After document screening and interviews, the shareholders meeting on this day confirmed Lee Il-yong as the new CEO. The term is three years.
The new CEO graduated from Hanyang University with a degree in public administration and majored in business administration at the Korea National Open University Graduate School. Lee is currently pursuing a doctoral program in venture investment finance at Hoseo University Graduate School of Venture Studies.
The new CEO served as head of the support division and head of the broadcasting division at Lotte Home Shopping, head of sales at the e-commerce business unit at Lotte Shopping, and CEO of Home&Shopping. Lee is regarded as an industry expert in home shopping with broad experience across sales, broadcasting, and support.
Public Home Shopping is a public institution under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups established to expand sales channels for innovative products from small and venture businesses and for agricultural, livestock, and fishery products. The appointment resolves the CEO vacancy that continued after former CEO Cho Sung-ho's term expired in Sept. 2024.
