Seoul National University said on the 25th that it was selected as the top university for the second consecutive year in the 2025 Seoul Campus Town operations performance evaluation. It once again confirmed its status as a university leading an AI-based deep-tech startup ecosystem.
According to the Seoul city government, Campus Town has a total of 1,066 startups. These corporations posted 167.4 billion won in sales, 52.2 billion won in investments raised, and 2,347 new hires. In particular, sales by resident corporations jumped 70.6% from a year earlier, showing strong growth.
Seoul National University presented a "technology-centered startup model" based on results such as AI-based startups accounting for 64.9%, 20 billion won in investments raised, and 7 billion won in government support. As a representative case, Goi Funeral Lab surpassed 50,000 cumulative subscribers through its "100-won mutual-aid" model and raised 9 billion won in 2025, bringing cumulative investment to 11.9 billion won.
Seoul National University Campus Town is pursuing the "2030 10-100-300-1000 Project" with the vision of becoming the "global hub of deep-tech youth startup innovation." It is building a one-stop support system from startup discovery to global expansion, aiming to foster 10 baby unicorns, 100 deep-tech corporations, 300 global startups, and 1,000 AI talents.
To improve the survival rate of resident corporations and establish a stable sales base, it will also fully roll out the public market entry support program "B2G (corporations and government transaction) Bridge." In cooperation with Gwanak District and the Gwanak Small and Medium Venture Promotion Agency, it plans to create the region as a public test bed and support verification and commercialization based on administrative and public demand.
Kang Geon-uk, deputy head of Seoul National University Campus Town, said, "We will build a virtuous cycle of commercialization and performance diffusion through verification based on public demand." Director General Kim Ju-han said, "We will foster competitive deep-tech startups in the global market through technological advancement and global expansion."
Meanwhile, Kyunghee University and Hanyang University were also selected as top universities in this evaluation.
