Volvo Car Korea said on the 24th that it will begin preorders ahead of the domestic launch of the next-generation pure-electric flagship sport utility vehicle (SUV) "EX90" on Apr. 1.
The EX90 was selected as the World Luxury Car at the 2025 World Car Awards last year. Lee Yun-mo, head of Volvo Car Korea, said, "The EX90 is a next-generation flagship SUV that encapsulates cutting-edge safety, technology, design and sustainability leading the era of electrification, and it is a model where you can experience Volvo Cars' true Swedish luxury."
The starting price of the EX90 to be sold domestically is set about 10 million won lower than the XC90 T8 (plug-in hybrid). A Volvo Car Korea official said, "Other sales trims will also be introduced to the Korean market through strategic price positioning that takes global competitiveness into account." Detailed vehicle information and pricing will be released with the domestic launch.
The EX90's powertrain will be offered as twin motor and twin motor Performance, based on all-wheel drive (AWD) that combines a 106 kWh nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) battery with next-generation twin motors. It can travel up to 625 km on a single charge (global WLTP standard).
Preorders for the EX90 begin today at 39 official Volvo Cars showrooms nationwide. Detailed information on the vehicle is available on the official Volvo Car Korea website.
