Mercedes-Benz Korea said on the 19th that Shirin Emira, former CEO of Mercedes-Benz Sweden and Denmark, has been appointed the new CEO. Emira will begin her term on July 1.
Emira previously served as senior vice president of product management at Beijing Mercedes-Benz Sales Service in China. She is currently overseeing dealer model market management and global network development at Mercedes-Benz AG.
Emira said, "It is meaningful to lead Mercedes-Benz Korea in Korea, one of the most influential and trendsetting markets in the global automobile industry," and noted, "We will work closely with the Korea team and dealer partners to deliver a differentiated customer experience."
Matthias Wytyl, the current head of Mercedes-Benz Korea, has been promoted to head of marketing and sales for the van division at Mercedes-Benz AG. Since taking office in Sep. 2023, Wytyl has introduced the Maybach brand center and the Mercedes-Benz sport utility vehicle (SUV) experience center in Korea and implemented a new vehicle sales method, "Retail of the Future."
