The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises set up a joint pavilion for Korean small and medium-sized companies at North America's largest consumer goods trade show, kicking off efforts to expand entry into the U.S. market.
The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises said on the 18th that it operated a group pavilion made up of 15 Korean small and medium-sized companies at ASD Market Week, held at the Las Vegas Convention Center from the 17th to the 19th (local time).
ASD is North America's largest consumer goods business-to-business (B2B) trade show, held twice a year in March and August. About 30,000 buyers from U.S. and Latin American distribution visit.
At this group pavilion, various consumer goods corporations, including cosmetics and food, took part and showcased their products to local buyers. KBIZ reviewed the participants' competitiveness, the on-site consultation atmosphere, and the buyer mix to map out future support strategies.
This participation also served as a preliminary check for the "K-Goods Fair," which is being pursued in connection with the August ASD show. KBIZ is considering co-hosting with the Federation of Korean Associations of America Chambers of Commerce. It plans to support large-scale Korea Pavilion arrangements along with advance promotions and matching with key buyers.
Emerald X, the organizer of ASD, also supported attracting Korean corporations. Chairman Herve Sedky showed interest in traditional Korean culture. He signaled that he would cooperate to secure in advance the buyers desired by the Korean corporations participating in the August show.
Kim Ki-moon, chairman of KBIZ, said, "The United States has a large market size and strong global spillover effects, making it a country with high demand for entry by small and medium-sized companies," adding, "We will support outstanding small and medium-sized companies in entering the Americas market through the K-Goods Fair linked to the August ASD show."
