SK hynix beat Samsung Electronics to take the No. 1 spot among large corporations where adult men and women most want to work. Since Saramin began the related survey, this is the first time Samsung Electronics has yielded the top position.
According to the results of the "large corporations people want to join" survey of 2,304 adults released on the 16th by Saramin, SK hynix ranked first with a 20% response rate.
Next, Samsung Electronics placed second with an 18.9% share of the vote. The two pillars leading Korea's semiconductor industry effectively swept the top ranks in preference.
This is interpreted as the explosive growth potential of the semiconductor industry, alongside the rapid expansion of the global artificial intelligence (AI) market, having a decisive impact on job seekers' choices.
Outside of semiconductor corporations, Hyundai Motor (7.9%) ranked third, while Naver (4%) and Samsung C&T (3%) placed fourth and fifth, respectively. They were followed by ▲Hanwha Aerospace (2.4%) ▲OTOKI (1.9%) ▲Kakao (1.8%) ▲Samsung Biologics (1.7%) ▲LG Electronics (1.7%), which entered the top 10.
The reasons for wanting to join the selected corporations differed markedly depending on each company's characteristics and industry.
Respondents who chose SK hynix, Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor, and Samsung C&T picked "high salary" as their top priority, while those who selected Samsung Biologics, Hanwha Aerospace, and Naver chose "the company's vision and growth potential" as their No. 1 factor.
Major large corporations are also actively hiring entry-level employees. SK hynix, which ranked first in preference, is accepting applications through the 23rd. Samsung Electronics and Samsung Biologics will close their application screenings on the 17th. Hanwha Aerospace began posting entry-level job notices on this day and launched a full-fledged talent hunt.
